The objective was to design a new visual system for a set of three different wines. I was inspired by the hardworking insect which is simplified and centered for a line of honey wine also called the mead. Each bottle displays geometric elements that represent each specific flavor. The geometric shapes represent the flying patterns of bees when food is found.
The objective was to create a series of collateral for a conference of futuristic event using experimental typography. The topic is visualizing sound in 3D experiments. As sound is made of unlimited sources, CMYK is my chosen color scheme to represent the infinite spectrum of colors that it can generate.
The objective was to design a brand guideline for an eco-friendly organization or a campaign in the Bay Area. I came up with a campaign that sells memorabilia to honor and commemorate the old bay bridge after its demolition. I designed the Abridged identity inspired by the actual shape of the Bay Bridge metal structure.
I redesigned Tarot Card Game to include my own illustrations throughout this new board game, Tarochi. Every part of the illustrations are hand drawn as well as the logo. The name Tarochi is derived from an Latin word of Tarot. The overall look for the board game is purposely unpolished for the mysterious and organic atmosphere.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund is one of the biggest scholarship organizations in the United States for Latinos. I was given a task to design a book with inspiring narratives for the chosen organization.
The narrative is to engage in the readers to learn of the negative facts, then the book reveals positive stories in the latter half. The first half shows black and white photos with the other half in full colors amplifying the strong contrast.
The objective was to create coffee bean packaging for three roasts; one premium and two regular. I kept the original logo of Blue Bottle Coffee to maintain its minimal look. Each label is printed on 100% cotton paper to carry the hand-made quality. The metal tin cans store the beans to continue the vintage style while keeping the label design simple and modern. Each can stores resealable cotton bags for sustainability.
I chose FF Meta for this postcard project because of my curiosity to juxtapose the humanist sans serif type-face with symmetrical geometric shapes. One of the creators of FF Meta, Erik Spiekermann, is my favorite typographer. A series of distinctive characteristics of the typeface is displayed in my own typographic ways.
I designed a simple-to-use application to virtually assist users to decorate any places including interior and exterior. Users are able to simulate with real time photos of any desired areas which will save time and unnecessary trips to stores. It also allows shopping directly through the application on the users' portable device.
During this group project, my group of five was tasked to create a store brand and its own private brand to compete with high-end retailers including Restorative Hardware, Crate & Barrel, William Sonoma, etc.
We created a main store named Parallel as well as its private brand. The main store carries high quality items to appeal to its customers whose taste match their lifestyle. From the start to finish we have created every design aspect of our work together in unison including brand identity and packaging. The store categories are; Kitchen, Food, Beauty and Pharmacy.
Gardenia is a private brand owned by its store, Parallel. It is a line of premium gardening supplies for urban gardeners. My group and I developed its brand identity based on the attributes which are organic, lively, and practical. We also customized the typeface to resemble typewriter style that brings a personal touch to the brand.
